Karl-Peter Hammer, Teacher of The Visually Impaired
Karl-Peter Hammer is a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI). He has a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education from Central Washington University and Master's degrees in Teaching Children with Visual Impairments from Western Michigan University as well as Low-Incidence Special Education from Eastern Carolina University. His experience ranges from more than four years as a special education classroom teacher, six years as a regional special education cooperative's Assistive Technology Specialist and eight years as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired.
Roxanne Homstad, Technology Specialist
Roxanne, a former instructor for the Helen Keller International Center, is a very experienced instructor in utilizing technology to increase independence for individuals in the blind/visually impaired community. She has more than 10 years experience developing curriculum for and teaching courses for both youth and adults that focus on a skills necessary for independence in the Digital Age. These courses focused on skills such as using braille displays and screen readers (i.e. JAWS, Window Eyes, NVDA) for more effective and independent computer use, learning the accessibility features, including VoiceOver and zoom, on iOS devices, and introductory computer science for both Windows and Mac platforms.
